Hermetic Principles

The 7 Hermetic Principles, 

detailed in The Kybalion (1908), are foundational, ancient philosophical laws governing reality: Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender. These principles assert that the universe is mental, everything vibrates, and opposites are identical in nature but different in degree, offering a framework for spiritual growth and mastering one's reality. 

1. The Principle of Mentalism: 

"The All is Mind; The Universe is Mental." This principle states that reality is a mental construction, and thoughts precede manifestation.

2. The Principle of Correspondence: 

"As above, so below; as below, so above." 

It suggests that the same laws apply on all planes of existence (physical, mental, and spiritual).

3. The Principle of Vibration: 

"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates." 

This principle explains that everything in the universe is in constant motion and has a specific frequency.

4. The Principle of Polarity: 

"Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites." 

It posits that opposites are actually the same thing, just in different degrees (e.g., hot and cold).

5. The Principle of Rhythm:

"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides." 

This principle highlights that everything operates in cycles, swings, and tides, resembling a pendulum.

6. The Principle of Cause and Effect: 

"Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause." 

It states that nothing happens by chance and that every action has a corresponding reaction.

7. The Principle of Gender: 

"Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles." 

This principle refers to the balance of creative energy, not just physical sex, acting on all planes.
